Good question, here is a recap of what each term means.
Button bar :: the zone between the palette and timeline where controls like play, pause, review, delete and undo appear learn more
Cut :: your take (aka your version) of an online video
Cut detail page :: each Cut has its own page from which you can watch and share the Cut. Whenever you save a Cut, you will be taken to its detail page.

Cutter :: the Cut's creator
Edit :: general term for the elements that make up a Cut (i.e. sound effects, captions, skip, loop). When you click on an Edit in the timeline, it turns orange, the black resizing handles appear, and the Edit tools in the palette present. Edits in this state are referred to as "Active".
FLV :: refers to Flash video, which is a proprietary file format used to deliver video over the Internet using Adobe’s Flash Player. Most video community sites use FLV format, including YouTube, MySpace, Google, Metacafe, iFilm.
Hashmark :: these vertical lines in the Skip | Loop track represent the scene changes of the video. Each video has a unique set of hashmarks.
Palette :: the upper right area of the CutMaker where all new Edit types and various Edit refinement tools are available
Scene changes :: the points in a video that the scrubber jumps to when you use the Skip, Loop, Review features or when you manually fast forward or rewind the video. To the Flash geeks, these points are formally referred to as Key Frames.
Scrubber :: the vertical line that spans the tracks and moves when the video is playing; you can drag it to a new point in the video.
Timeline :: refers to the area below the palette where all Edits are sequenced and arranged on the various tracks.
Tracks :: each Edit type (Sound, Caption, Skip | Loop) have their own track within the timeline
